This Anime Zero beginner guide covers the first hour in the Roblox dungeon crawler: what to claim before you spend anything, how to use your first rolls, which mode to start in and where your first Skill Token goes. The steps follow the order the published beginner guides agree on, and the details link to the pages that go deeper.
Anime Zero beginner guide: the first steps in order
- Claim what is free. Redeem the Anime Zero codes (24 are listed active as of the last check) and take the group reward from the developer's Roblox group.
- Roll with your Spins and Lucky Spins. The pity and rolls guide shows what each spin type can give and why Lucky Spins are worth saving.
- Fill both weapon slots. You carry two weapons and swap between them with T, so equip the best two you have even when one is a placeholder. The weapons list shows what each one is.
- Pick a damage enchant early. Bloxodes points to Power as the early damage enchant.
- Spend your first Skill Token on a damage node. The first damage node Bloxodes names is worth 15% more damage.
Which mode should a beginner play first?
Start in Story mode. The beginner guides recommend it first, then Defend and Infinite once your weapons can carry the harder stages. Each mode has Easy, Medium, Hard and Nightmare difficulties, and clearing stages is where most of your trait rerolls and crafting materials come from. The dungeon guide covers what each mode is for.
Early upgrades in the Anime Zero beginner guide
- Skill tree: four paths, Attack, Critical Chance, Defense and Speed. Put the first token on a damage node, as the beginner guide does, and branch out once you know what is killing you.
- Accessories: crafted from stage materials and give damage, health, Coin or cooldown bonuses. The accessories list shows how the published lists rank them.
- Traits: rerolled with trait rerolls from stage clears, quests and codes. Keep rerolls for a trait that helps the weapon you are actually using; the traits list has the ranking.
- Evolution: turns a weapon into its stronger form and unlocks its ultimate. It uses items from stages, so it comes after your first clears. See the evolution guide.
Which weapons are worth keeping?
Weapons are summoned, so what you hold depends on luck. The three published lists we read rank Cataclysm and Cursed King as S tier, with Dragon Eclipse and Immortal Sovereign in A. The weapons tier list shows every rank and where the lists agree.
Controls you will use all the time
On PC you move with WASD, dash with Q, interact with E, fire skills with 1, 2 and 3, swap weapons with T and use the ultimate with G once evolution unlocks it. The full list is on the controls page.
Anime Zero beginner guide FAQ
What should I do first in Anime Zero?
Redeem the working codes and take the group reward, then use your Spins and Lucky Spins, equip two weapons and start Story mode.
Where should my first Skill Token go?
On a damage node. Bloxodes names the first damage node, worth 15% more damage, as the early pick.
Which weapon should a new player use?
The one you have and can evolve. Cataclysm and Cursed King rank highest in the published lists, but both are rare summons, so most beginners start with a lower-rarity weapon and upgrade later.
Do I need to pay to progress?
The sources we read describe a free path: codes, quests, achievements and stage clears all give Rolls, Lucky Spins and rerolls. Nothing in them says purchases are required.
