Anime Zero Dungeon Guide: Story, Defend & Infinite

Anime Zero dungeon guide: Story, Defend and Infinite modes, the four difficulties, what each mode rewards and how to clear it.

5 min readLast checked Sources

This Anime Zero dungeon guide covers the three modes the published guides name, Story, Defend and Infinite, the four difficulties each one offers and what clearing them gives you. The sources publish more about what dungeons reward than about how each mode plays, so this page sticks to what they agree on.

Anime Zero dungeon guide: the three modes

  • Story is where the beginner guides send you first. It runs through chapters, and its stages drop the materials and trait rerolls you need early.
  • Defend is the mode the guides recommend next. Our sources describe little of how it works beyond that order, so check the in-game description.
  • Infinite is the endless mode. Games.gg notes that Fine Cloth, an evolution material, drops there as well as in the chapters.

That is the order the guides give. The beginner guide has the rest of the first hour.

Difficulties: Easy, Medium, Hard and Nightmare

Each mode has four difficulties. Move up a difficulty once the one you are on feels comfortable. Beebom names a Nightmare Shadow Gate raid as the source of Shadow Monarch; the raids guide has what the sources say.

What dungeons reward

  • Trait rerolls from stage clears, quests and codes. See the traits list for which traits are worth keeping.
  • Crafting materials for accessories, which give damage, health, Coin or cooldown bonuses. The accessories list ranks them.
  • Evolution items that you turn in at the Evolution NPC. The evolution guide lists what the one published recipe needs.
  • Rolls and Lucky Spins for the Arsenal; the pity and rolls guide has the odds.

How to clear a dungeon

  • Pull enemies into a group before you use an area skill.
  • Use the dash on Q to leave attacks. See controls for the other keys.
  • Learn the boss timing and avoid the wind-up rather than racing it.
  • Swap weapons with T when the first weapon's skills are on cooldown.
  • Put your first Skill Token on a damage node, as the beginner guide advises.
