How to evolve a weapon in Anime Zero
- Open the Areas menu and go to the Evolution area.
- Find the Evolution NPC and talk to it with E.
- Check the requirements it lists for the weapon you picked.
- Gather the missing items from stages and come back.
- Return to the NPC and press Evolve.
The requirements are made of items that drop in stages; the one full recipe we have also asks for Gems. That is why evolution comes after your first dungeon clears and not before them.
What evolution unlocks
Every weapon has a fourth skill, its ultimate, and it stays locked until the weapon is evolved. Once the ultimate is open you fire it on G; the other keys are on the controls page.
Anime Zero evolution guide: the Cataclysm recipe
Games.gg is the only source we found that prints a full evolution cost, for Cataclysm:
- 60 Fine Cloth
- 30 Mana Feathers
- 10 Wave Cores
- 12 Soul Fragments
- 4 Magic Pendants
- 3,000 Gems
Games.gg notes that Fine Cloth drops across all chapters and in Infinite mode, so it is the one you farm for the longest. That is a single source and the game changes costs with updates, so we have not marked it verified. The in-game Evolution menu is the only recipe you can fully trust.
Which weapon should you evolve first?
Evolve the weapon you fight with most, because the cost is paid per weapon. The weapons tier list shows which weapons the published lists rank highest, and the odds on the pity and rolls guide show how long it takes to roll them. Weapons are rare summons, so most players will be choosing among the ones they already own.
