How Cataclysm plays
Cataclysm is fast katana attacks combined with frost bursts. One guide describes the kit as lightning-fast katana strikes with massive frost bursts.
Every weapon has a fourth skill, its ultimate, that stays locked until the weapon is evolved. You can carry two weapons at once and swap between them with the T key, so a weapon you do not main can still earn its place as the second slot.

All three published lists put it in S, and games.gg labels it Meta. It is the top summonable weapon, and games.gg says that if you can invest in only one weapon, Cataclysm or Flame Director should be it.
LYTH is the top rarity. Beebom lists the one summonable LYTH weapon, Cataclysm, at 0.005% on a normal summon and 0.01% on a Lucky one, and two more LYTH weapons that cannot be summoned at all and drop from raids instead.
Cataclysm evolution cost
Games.gg lists the evolution cost for Cataclysm as 60 Fine Cloth, 30 Mana Feathers, 10 Wave Cores, 12 Soul Fragments, 4 Magic Pendants and 3,000 Gems, and notes that Fine Cloth drops across all chapters and Infinite mode. That is a single source, and the game changes costs with updates, so read the in-game Evolution menu before you farm.

Roll for Cataclysm in the Arsenal with Rolls or Lucky Spins. A normal roll gives it 0.005% and a Lucky roll 0.01%, and every roll counts toward the guaranteed Mythic at 175 spins. Rolls and Lucky Spins come from codes, quests and achievements, Story mode and raids.
